Vehicle Storage Guide
Planning to store your car, motorcycle, boat, or RV at Hello Storage? Here are a few general guidelines to help you prepare. Keep in mind that requirements may vary by location, so always review your rental agreement for complete details.
Before You Store:
- All vehicles must be in working order with wheels that roll and tires properly inflated.
- Vehicles must be driven into the unit or space (no towing in or storing on blocks).
- Current registration and proof of insurance are required.
- Boats, RVs, and trailers must have valid license plates and be roadworthy.
While in Storage:
- Tags and registrations should be kept current during storage.
- Limit fuel in the tank (remove as much as possible before storing).
- No repairs or major maintenance may be performed inside the unit.
- Car covers are recommended for outdoor storage and may be required for unsightly vehicles.
- Tire locks and tie-downs are allowed for added security.
Long-Term Storage Tips:
- Inspect and maintain fuel lines, gaskets, and tires before storing.
- Place cardboard or a mat under your vehicle to protect the unit floor from potential leaks.
